Stories are powerful, and we are surrounded by them daily through music, shows, books, people. And yet, what if the most influential story in our life is our own?
Brené Brown notes that “shame hates it when we reach out and tell our story. It hates having words wrapped around it- it can't survive being shared.” This reveals something significant: *Our* stories are powerful, too. I’m convinced healing is available for you through the sharing of your story with yourself and others.
Maybe you are considering sharing your full story for the first time. If so, I first want to celebrate your bravery. Second, I would be honored to create a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your story, embrace your whole self, and heal from the trauma and shame that may be present throughout it.
My work is guided by principles of empathy, compassion, and non-judgement, and I commit to creating a warm and accepting environment where you will feel seen, heard, and valued. Above all, I am deeply passionate about helping my clients cultivate a sense of empowerment, resilience, and self-acceptance as they embark on their journey towards healing and self-discovery.
I have a heart for working with adolescents and adults who are recovering from complex trauma, including sexual trauma and emotional abuse, as well as those navigating topics related to LGBTQ+, grief and loss, anxiety, faith/spirituality, relational conflict, and belonging. My faith is meaningful to me, and I welcome working with people of all faith backgrounds.
In my free time, you can likely find me laughing with friends, being active outdoors, planning my next travel adventure, dancing and singing off-key to show tunes, reading at a local coffee shop, or hanging out with my dog, Cowboy!
I graduated from Berry College with a B.A. in Psychology and from Richmont Graduate University with a M.A. in Ministry. I am currently earning a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University.
If you’re ready to take the first step towards a more fulfilling and authentic life, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. Together, we can work towards sharing your story wholeheartedly and creating positive and lasting change in your life.
