Elizabeth Bowen, LPC

Elizabeth Bowen, LPC

Much of my practice is devoted to supporting couples and new parents as they navigate the profound transitions of parenthood and partnership. Whether it’s deepening your connection with your partner, finding your footing as a new mom or dad, or coping with infertility and related challenges, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you feel understood and empowered. My hope is to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, connection, and well-being.

In addition to working with couples and parents, I also support individuals navigating challenges such as trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood as they heal and make meaning of their experiences. I use EMDR and IFS in my work with clients to provide compassionate, research-supported support for healing and personal growth.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective approach for processing and healing painful memories. EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or triggering, allowing clients to find relief, resilience, and a renewed sense of balance.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is rooted in a non-pathologizing view of the mind. Instead of labeling thoughts, feelings, or behaviors as “bad” or “disordered,” IFS understands them as natural responses that developed to help you cope and protect yourself. Every part of you—even the ones that feel overwhelming or stuck—has a purpose and carries wisdom. As a clinician, I hold this same perspective: I see each client through a lens of inherent goodness and meet their experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. This non-pathologizing approach creates space for deep healing, greater self-understanding, and lasting change.

When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me juggling life with my two kids and husband, biking like I’m training for a race, testing out new restaurants, or soaking up the outdoors—basically doing my best to balance adventure and survival!
