services, groups & policies

We serve children ages 8+, adolescents, and adults. We provide Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Therapeutic Groups.

Each of our clinicians is extensively trained in an evidence-based therapy and receives supervision and consultation to provide the highest quality services.

Individual Therapy is a process where a person creates a one-on-one relationship with a licensed therapist built around safety, trust, confidentiality, and connection. In therapy, you outline goals you want to work on, and the therapist helps you explore how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past impact your life and your goals. The goal of therapy is for you to feel completely safe in bringing anything to your therapist so that you can look at yourself most honestly, receive support, skills, and direct feedback to be able to better understand yourself and heal from past wounds.

EMDR Intensive Sessions are individual therapy sessions that can last several hours in length. They are a safe and effective way for those coming to treatment wanting to work on a specific trauma or traumas in a compressed manner. This allows some clients to schedule half a day or full day EMDR sessions that would happen less frequently than the standard weekly 50 minute sessions. Some clients say they enjoy this model as it allows them to process more issues in a shorter period of time, and taking time off from work or setting aside time to decompress after processing is easier to schedule.

Group Therapy in a DBT framework is “psychoeducational,” which means it is focused on learning how to better understand and cope with symptoms of mental health issues. DBT group therapy is a small group where members of all different kinds of backgrounds can come together to learn from the skills and one another. Members graduate feeling that they are not alone and are better equipped to understand their emotions, control unwanted behaviors, and are on their way to a “Life Worth Living.”

If you are interested in a DBT group, you must first be in individual therapy (your therapist doesn’t have to have a therapist at EAC).

  • DBT teaches skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path.
